The JCED team visited 107 homes in James, Namaja, and Naliya villages. We are happy to see 93 healthy gardens growing well
In Naliya Village, the gardens look great. Many people said they started gardening because their Pastors told them how important it is. One villager said, "When I heard it from our Pastor, I knew this was serious!"
We also helped fix 21 gardens that were struggling. We are working hard to make sure our team does their job well and visits every home on time. We met with TA Phweremwe to talk about how Chiefs can help promoting victory gardens, where we planned to have a meeting with traditional leaders.
This activity vividly demonstrates the accompaniment principle as articulated by Pope Francis in Evangelii Gaudium, where he calls the Church to master the “art of accompanimentˮ a patient, merciful, and relational presence that walks alongside people in their real-life journeys, respecting their pace while gently guiding them toward fuller human and spiritual flourishing.
