The Jesuit Centre for Ecology and Development (JCED) successfully hosted the 2026 Kasungu District Agriculture Field Day at Chimbalu Eco-Village, JCED’s ecological model village in GVH Chiwapula, STA Ndume, Chipala EPA. Held under the theme “Field of Opportunity: Exploring Farming Innovations and Technology,” the event brought together farmers, government officials, development partners, private sector players, and community members to showcase innovative and climate-smart agricultural practices. The field day provided participants with an opportunity to learn and exchange knowledge on sustainable farming methods, agroecology, conservation agriculture, organic manure production, and environmental conservation. Farmers also interacted with various stakeholders exhibiting agricultural technologies and services aimed at improving productivity and resilience against climate change. Through the event, JCED reaffirmed its commitment to promoting sustainable agriculture and strengthening community resilience through ecological farming approaches demonstrated at the Chimbalu Eco-Village.
